Thanks to Hollywood movies, people generally tend to think of hypnosis as some sort of macabre mind control, when in reality it is basically just “controlled day dreaming”. Day dreaming happens when your mind is relaxed and your brainwave frequencies are in the Delta phase. All hypnosis does is help you reach this level of relaxation at a specific time, in order to address a specific issue.
While everybody can be hypnotized, nobody can be hypnotized into doing anything outside of their own moral code – meaning no one can hypnotize you without your consent much less hypnotize you into doing anything you don’t want to do – You are always in control. And yes, this includes running around clucking like a chicken or dancing with a broom. That is why in entertainment shows using random volunteers, this sort of thing is only done towards the end, once the hypnotist has narrowed the group down to those who are most susceptible to suggestibility. Only about 20% of the world’s population can reach this level of intense relaxation, so there really is no need to worry. Especially since they hypnosis we do at Love-Live-Laugh Coaching is not used for entertainment purposes.
Most people seeking help through hypnosis do so as a last resort, when nothing else works. More and more westerners are turning to hypnosis as they no longer believe in, or feel safe with the effects and side-effects of modern drugs. Even doctors (who often won’t admit to believing in the power of hypnosis) will generally not discourage patients from trying it, simply because they know that there are no physical or mental risks involved. Research has also shown that those doctors who do disapprove of hypnosis only do so for fear of losing patients.
The reason most people have difficulties letting go of their “issues” is because even though they may consciously want to, on an unconscious level they are not really ready to do so (there is a limiting belief or secondery gain that needs to be addressed). Through hypnosis the client is guided to “speak” more directly to the unconscious mind through suggesting (by means of positive suggestions and affirmations), that what needs to be changed will improve the client’s life as opposed to keeping the client stuck in the current unhealthy situation.
Hypnosis has been proven to work on almost all “issues” provided the client is willing to allow the changes.
A lot of people are put off by trying regression hypnosis to help identify and release the core of their specific problem, thinking they are being forced into believing in reincarnation.
This is a huge misperception since there is no real proof one way or the other whether we reincarnate or not.
What we do know for sure is that the mind works best with images and metaphors. And it is most likely that during regression hypnosis the mind is just producing a metaphor to help you unlock the core of your issue.
